Introduction - The scope of materials in the language classroom

BSL - Video English - Transcript

When teaching British Sign Language, it is very important to remember that students are learning BSL as a second language, much like learning French or Italian.

The language taught needs to be natural and should match the language used within the Deaf Community and so the aim is, that the students will learn the natural community language in class.

Therefore the content of language materials used also needs to match the natural community language.
