Teaching skills for teachers - Knowing your language learners

Traditionally BSL students were adults learning BSL in colleges at beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.

Now BSL is taught to babies, primary school children, teenagers in secondary schools as well as adults.

These new groups' are learning BSL, which has an effect upon how the language is leaned and taught.

Curriculum, activities and materials must match the students' ages, development and motivation.
