1.6 Curriculum

BSL - Video English - Transcript

The school curriculum is not optional for language teachers as it is nationally organised and controlled by central government therefore it is not schools themselves nor examination awarding organisations who organise the curriculum.

Primary schools and Secondary schools provide key stages of learning so that when BSL is taught within schools it will have to be equivalent to other languages taught within the National Curriculum.

Methods, materials, topics and information technology involved in BSL teaching will need to reflect the context of existing language teaching in schools.
